Train Mountain Fall Meet: Quentin Breen's Train Mountain held a Superb Fall Meet over the 8th-10th of September. The week prior to each scheduled meet is a work week. And during this time many people from all over the Western U.S. and Canada lend a hand. In July's work week nearly 9,000 feet of new track was laid and ballasted. And during September's work week another 5,000 feet of new track was put down. The end result will be nearly 20 miles or more of track. This should equate to one of the finest 1.5" scale tracks in the world. At September's Meet over 250 people attended and Quentin's 80 foot steaming bay was over flowing with Steam, Diesel, and Electric engines. Not to mention all the rolling stock and other engines staged throughout the various yards at Train Mounatin. The weather was very pleasant during the day and the evenings were crystal clear for night running. There were so many engines at TM by Friday the 8th, that night running was held both Friday and Saturday. Many additional scale buildings were added this summer and the landscaping is also coming along nicely. This is due to a fine job done by Quentin's crew. Many that attended the Fall Meet said that they had stayed out up to two hours on the layout before returning to the main yards. The trackage currently in place boogles the mind, and to see the final plans are something else. The Chioquin High School Booster Group provided a lunch stand which served Cold Drinks, Hot Dogs, Hamburgers, and other items. And as is a Train Mountain Meet tradition, there's a Saturday evening Banquet. During the Banquet Quentin makes absolutely sure that all who have helped, volunteers and crew alike are recognized for their efforts. A Fine Barbequed Steak Dinner and Dessert was served to all that attended. Along with entertainment from a young lady who sang Country and Western songs. Quentin goes all out to make sure that all his guests have an enjoyable visit and that the Banquet is GREAT! Train Mountain is NOT a Club!
