PROPOSED DIVISION BOUNDARIES
                     Southern Pacific Lines
                    May take effect 1 OCT 89

Southern Pacific Lines (Operating Dept.) may undergo a
restructuring effective October 1, 1989 by realigning (and
adding) divisions.  One of many advantages to this restructuring
of divisions will be to give customers better service by giving
Superintendents smaller territories to manage, allowing a more
"hands on" approach by supervisory personnel.

Here are the proposed divisions and their respective boundaries:


DIVISION       BOUNDARIES

Oregon              Portland to, but not including Klamath Falls
               on Cascade line and Glendale on the Siskiyou line.

Shasta              Glendale on the Siskiyou line and Klamath
               Falls on the Cascade line south to, and including
               Willows on the West Valley line and Tehama on the
               East Valley line.

Sparks              Carlin west to, but not including Klamath
               Falls on the Modoc line and including Lawton on
               the Sparks-Sacramento line.

Sacramento          Suisun-Fairfield to, but not including
               Lawton.  Florin included to, but not including
               Willows on the West Valley line, and to, but not
               including Tehama on the East Valley line.
               Includes NWP.

Stockton       Flrin (excluded) to and including Goshen Junction.
               Lathrop to and including Tracy.  West Side line,
               Coalinga Branch, and Exeter Branch from Fresno to,
               but not including Ducor.

Western        Tracy(excluded) and Suisun-Fairfield (excluded)
               to, but not including Santa Margarita.

Tehachapi      Goshen Junction to and including Slover.  Ducor to
               Famoso on Exeter Branch and Palmdale Junction to,
               but not including Saugus on the Saugus line.

Los Angeles         Santa Margarita to and including Marne and to
               and including Saugus.

West Colton         Marne (excluded) to and including Yuma and
               to, but not including Slover.

Tucson              Yuma (excluded) to, but not including
               Lordsburg.

El Paso             Lordsburg, including Clifton Branch to, but
               not including Sanderson, and to, but not including
               Carrizozo.

San Antonio         Sanderson to, but not including Hearne, to,
               but not including Glidden, and to, but not
               including El Campo.

Houston        Includes Ames on Lafayette line, Glidden on the
               Glidden line to, but not including Shreveport on
               the Lufkin line.  To and including Cypress on
               Hearne line and to and including El Camp on the
               Victoria line.

Avondale       New Orleans to, but not including Ames and to, but
               not including Prosser on the Rockland Branch.

Dallas              Texarkana (excluded) to, but not including
               Cypress on the Hearne line.

Pine Bluff          Illmo (exlcuded) to Memphis, Texarkana, and
               Shreveport.

St. Louis      Illmo to, but not including Kansas City.

Kansas City         Pratt (excluded) to and including Kansas City
               (Armourdale) and the Osawatomie line.

Dalhart             Carrizozo to and including Pratt.

Denver              Helper (excluded) to, but not including
               Herington.

Salt Lake      Carlin (excluded) to, but not including Helper.
