METROLINK TIMETABLES Each line has both a color-coded Timetable folder and a Station Map folder. The timetable lists the times at stations and a fare matrix. The Ventura County Line timetable also lists Amtrak Intercity service. The Station Map folders show a map of each station and also parking, platform and connecting service. The Ventura County Line folders are a dull green, Santa Clarita Line folders are light orange while the San Bernardino Line folders are grey. In addition, the METROLINK COMMUTER'S GUIDE lists information about fares and how to use the Ticket Vending Machine, connections to and from Metrolink with phone numbers, additional safety tips and courtesy rules, and a map of Metrolink (appropriate until mid-1993) and a map of L. A. Union Station which has some minor errors. TVMs (Ticket Vending Machines) are located at each Metrolink Station. There are 3 at LAUS. There are directions to follow in English or Spanish to guide a passenger through the selections of the 3 types of fare categories (Adult, Child/Student & Elderly/Disabled), then the 6 types of tickets (One-Way, One-Way Transfer Upgrade, Round-Trip, Round-Trip Transfer Upgrade, 10-Trip Ticket or Monthly Pass) then finally the destination of the trip. Tickets are only available from the originating station to the destination station, you can not purchase a ticket from any other station. TVMs accept coins and bills up to $20.00, with change given in coins. Credit and debit cards will be accepted in a few months. FARE RULES A ONE-WAY ticket is valid for 3 hours from the time of purchase. A ROUND-TRIP Ticket is valid until midnight of the day purchased and the TVM will issue 2 tickets. A TRANSFER UPGRADE ticket is valid only in conjunction with a valid bus or rail (sic) transfer. A 10-TRIP ticket is good for 10 one-way trips within 90 days of purchase and must be stamped by the validator machine at each station and may be used by more then 1 passenger at a time by being stamped for each passenger. The MONTHLY PASS may be purchased during the last 5 days or the first 10 days of the month (sic) and is not pro-rated. TRANSFERS - All Metrolink tickets include a free transfer to connecting service. TRANSIT CONNECTIONS AT LAUS LADOT operates 2 shuttle lines, Route A to Civic Center/Bunker Hill and Route B to Financial District/South Park which depart from the track level. Do not confuse these routes with the LADOT DASH Routes. This is a free service with Metrolink or OCTA (Amtrak from Orange County) Media.The RTD also has several lines that now loop at the track level which will accept Metrolink fare media but not OCTA media. Also, the many routes that serve LAUS at the street level will also accept Metrolink fare media.
