PICTURE-PERFECT: A CONTEST FOR FREE TRIPS ON THE AMTRAK LAKE SHORE LIMITED

	CHICAGO -- Shutterbugs can win a free second trip on the Amtrak Lake Shore Limited by entering a new contest called "Picture Yourself on the Lake Shore Limited."

	Amtrak customers aboard the train to and from Chicago, New York and Boston are being encouraged to take a photo of themselves or others aboard the Lake Shore Limited and enter the contest running from now through Sept. 1, 1996.  The pictures can be taken anywhere aboard the famous train, which now offers more photo opportunities with the exciting new Viewliner sleeping cars.

	First Class customers will be given single-use cameras with film and a souvenir photo album.  Coach passengers who forget their cameras and film can buy single-use cameras aboard the train.

	Photos will be judged on content and creativity by a group of Amtrak officials on or before 
Oct. 15, 1996, and entries remain the property of Amtrak.

	First prize is a round-trip for two in a Viewliner deluxe bedroom to and from cities anywhere along the Lake Shore Limited route, valued up to $1,072.  Second prize is a round-trip coach trip for two to and from cities anywhere along the Lake Shore Limited route, valued at up to $578. 

	Historically the civilized way for business people to travel, the Lake Shore Limited is now the most comfortable way to make the trip.  Lake Shore Limited customers have been able to reserve a compartment or a bedroom in Viewliner sleeping cars since last November, when Amtrak began testing the Viewliners on the Chicago to New York section of the route.

	The Viewliners are the first single-level American sleeping cars constructed in nearly 40 years and offer video screens and audio systems in each room, showers and views from both upper and lower beds.  On the Lake Shore Limited, sights include Lake Michigan, Lake Erie, the Hudson River, the Berkshire Mountains and skylines in Chicago, Cleveland, Boston and New York.
