Just in time for Spring Break, college students can cut an additional 25 percent from the cost of Missouri travel by showing their student ID's. Local, state or federal government workers can obtain an additional discount of 15 percent if they show a valid employee identification card. Amtrak offers daily service to St. Louis, Kirkwood, Washington, Hermann, Jefferson City, Sedalia, Warrensburg, Lee's Summit, Independence and Kansas City. Trains along the St. Louis-Kansas City corridor are supported in part by the State of Missouri. "Trains are a relaxing way to travel for business and pleasure," said Jack Hynes, administrator of railroads for the Missouri Highway and Transportation Department. "The ride is comfortable, the seating is spacious and there's ample luggage and storage on-board. Riders can obtain food and beverages, relax and catch up on sleep, work or reading." Trains include passenger coaches and a cafe car. All discounts are valid for travel within Missouri only. They cannot be combined with any other offers or discounts, nor are companions able to use the discount without their own valid government employee or student identification.
