Custom Class on the Pennsylvanian will offer spacious leg-rest coach seating by reservation and a slight surcharge on what is otherwise an unreserved train. A complimentary daily newspaper, coffee, tea, soft drinks and juice will be provided from an adjacent lounge car. The lounge car also features a Railfone public telephone. The surcharge for Custom Class on the Pennsylvanian is as little as $8, depending on the distance traveled. "There are times when ridership on the Pennsylvanian is quite high and customers are concerned about finding a seat," said Martin Rush, Pennsylvanian product manager. "The reserved seating in the Custom Class car and the complimentary newspaper and beverages assure customers of a relaxed and comfortable trip."
