This Swedish Tilt-Train has tested at up to 155 MPH on the Northeast Corridor, according to the American Railway Engineering Association BULLETIN. Amtrak will be running a Chicago-Kalamazoo round-trip with it on Tuesday, June 22, 1993, and then one-way to Detroit that evening. On Wed. 6/23, it will make a round-trip, Detroit-Battle Creek. The train will be on static, public display the following afternoon (Trs. 6/24) at Greenfield Village in Dearborn. On Fri. 6/25, the equipment will run one-way to Chicago from Detroit, concluding its brief Michigan appearance. All trips over our Michigan Line and the Amtrak Line will be by invitation, only, with guests to be designated by the Michigan Dept. of Transportation.
