LaGrange built there last GP9 in 1959 and was busy readying the four unit GP35 / DD35 demos by this time. MEC acquired the 450 in 6/81 and painted it yellow in 12/81. 33) #466 & 469 were EX-Rock Island units of the same numbers and leased from GE in 11/65. The 466 was returned as unsatisfactory in 7/66. GE added MU to 469 before selling it to the MEC 1/27/67. It was traded in on GP38 #263 June 16, 1967. 34) #470 was rebuilt from #564 with 16-567C engine & chopped nose in 12/82. 35) #471 was rebuilt from 571 with crew quarters cab and dynamic brakes in 12/85 and chopped. 36) #551, 552, 555 were traded in to EMD on GP38's 251-262 12/66 and scrapped. 37) #553 was sold to the Providence & Worcester #1501 in 12/77.
