I posted this on the "speeder's list" to spread the word: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Here's a "heads up" for any collectors or museums out there. Saw an ad 1/13/01 in the Lancaster (Pa) Farming paper: Railroad wagon, good cond $500. Col(umbia) county Pa. 570-458-6965. Columbia Co is in the North central part of Pa. I haven't called the number, my guess is it may be a baggage wagon. Pat Daniels took it up and found out the following: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The “railroad wagon” is a baggage/freight wagon that saw use at a railroad station. The owner, Lloyd Adams, says it's some ten feet long and four feet wide, with four steel spoke wheels (individually lined with one-inch-thick hard rubber treads). The deck is some thirty inches off the ground. The tongue is weighted, so that when droppped, the tongue comes to rest in a horizontal position, off the ground. The color is orange; the condition is good. There are no builder plates or identifying marks. Mr. Adams believes such wagons are worth $700 to $800; so he'd be happy with $500. His daughter used it for a while as a produce display stand. That is all.
