Best Foods served off the Northern RR of NJ
Looking toward North Bergen and Jersey City, taken from the Hendricks Causeway road bridge. An industry daily served by Conrail/CSX and may be selectively compressed for modelling. This was/is switched by Conrail crews. This line is still called the Northern RR of New Jersey. Nyack was the terminus. Until the late 1980's it only went to the wye at Sparkill, NY. From there the Piermont Branch went to the Hudson River. Possibly until the track was removed the last train run over the embargoed Piermont Branch included an ex-Conrail NE style cupola caboose and four 40' steel boxcars that were period painted: PRR NYC NYS&W and ERIE. These were used to block the view of too-new-looking structures in a scene for the Woody Allen movie, "The Purple Rose of Cairo" which was filmed in Piermont, New York. Some of you who know ERIE RR history can add much more historical information and detail to this note.

Ecorail intermodal system
Ecorail intermodal is a RoadRailer like system that uses slightly modified conventional truck trailers (made possible because the use of distributed power modules instead of normal locomotives distributes train forces).
