Unit 302225 is seen on 31 road at Shoeburyness EMU Depot. The picture was taken shortly before it's departure on the last official day of 302 workings. Due to a lack of servicable stock, the class actually lasted slightly longer on the LT&S. Now the class will no longer be seen in passenger service as the last have been withdrawn.

Crew comfort wasn't a major consideration when designing the van on 302's! On the seat is the Conductors revinue bag. Behind is the PA and the LoudaPhone. To the right are the Track Circuit Operating Clips and a nice big crow bar. 302's also came with a nice little 'food warmer' (out of picture to the left) that took hours to warm up.

317 EMU in the 'Striking New Livery'
A 317 travelling ECS to Pitsea on LTS Rail. When they got their first units (317 301-3), LTS Rail made a big thing of the colours. They ran it to Shoeburyness at night so the punters didn't see it, and then used it on their busiest service. Unfortunately nobody noticed the paint job, and the passengers all complained about the lack of seats. These were the same passengers that demanded the end of the 302, 310 and 312's. Go figure!
